easyhard150x150Sometime in 2008? a guy named Greg connected with me through Geoladders to ask if I wanted to ride because I was doing some interesting exploratory routes in  the San Diego area at the time. We started collaborating to link as many dirt fragments as possible into a 100 mile loop, quite a task in North County San Diego considering its 900,000+ inhabitants. After making the connections, we built a website (dirtycentury.net), to celebrate the route’s existence, and to acknowledge the plethora of other long dirt rides throughout the world. We hope the spirit of exploration, adventure, and connectivity will continue to grow as we welcome public participation in this pursuit– to build a home for epic long mountain bike rides throughout the world. Now that home is here on trailthreads.net, to keep the spirit and legend alive.
