I was on recent trip to NorCal to visit my cousins and look into work so I took a spin on a borrowed bike in Livermore: http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/…cpZZ1QQtppZZ20

On the way back I flew out of SFO. They asked if I wanted an earlier flight. I was cool with that. Until I walked away from the counter and caught a glimpse off a mountain bike behind glass in the distance. Most of the display obscured by pillars and a wall. No, I thought to myself. A mountain bike display at the airport? I walked closer to see what it was about. I was in for a treat.
The exhibition was called: From Repack to Rwanda: The Origins, Evolution, and Global Reach of the Mountain Bike
This is what I have to share: http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/…O MTB Display/

I was stoked to see these bikes in person. I remember seeing Thomas Fricantspellhislastname in the mid 90s in lots of mags. I think he was in Vail when I watched the World Cup in 1995. I certainly remember Ned Overend, Tomac, Tinker, Julie Furtado, and Hans Rey.
It was hard to pull myself away. I got lost in the moment, then realized I better get to my gate. I started to hustle towards my gate and heard the announcement. “Jet Blue flight 1435?” now boarding, last call.” I sprinted 20 gates. Its fun running on the people mover. Too bad I didn’t have my Garmin on as I think I could have gotten a KOM in the airport.
